Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVel

You might think that the world doesn't need another supercar but Lamborghini differs in opinion. The Italian firm has stayed true to its promise to offer a new model every year, this year's Geneva show seeing the unveiling of the new Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. That's 670 as in bhp, this super Murcielago gaining 30bhp extra, as well as reducing in bulk to provide quite staggering performance.
Any Lamborghini launch is going to be interesting, but the SuperVeloce tops even the Reventon's unveiling last year. Lamborghini is claiming a best in class power to weight ratio of 2.3kg per bhp. That's enough to allow the four-wheel drive SuperVeloce to sprint to 62mph in 3.2 seconds. Top speed is either 212mph in standard guise or 209mph depending on whether you've opted for the 'Aeropack Wing' rear spoiler.
Although the SuperVeloce looks much like a regular Murcielago with some body addenda Lamborghini is claiming that it's a serious reworking of the standard car. Carbon fibre is used extensively - the floor and transmission tunnel being made of the strong, lightweight material for example. As a result of this and other weight-saving measures the Murcielago SuperVeloce is around 100kg lighter than the regular car. Fitted with a paddle-shift two-pedal transmission as standard those wanting a regular six-speed manual can specify it for no additional cost.
Assuming your freefalling shares and investments haven't left you penniless the Lamborghini LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is available to order now. Lamborghini will only be building 350 over the coming year so if you want one you'll need to get your order in soon.
